Join us for a morning of #inspiringinclusion with a panel discussion including Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP, Mayor of Wakefield Cllr Josie Pritchard, Lucy Ndlovu, founder of Progressive Talent CIC & Tracy Carpenter, Director of Mint HR.

Claire Sutherley DL

Your host for the event is Claire Sutherley DL, Managing Director of We Are Wakefield Ltd, Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire and Founder of Claire Sutherley’s Connection Academy. Claire has lived and worked in the Wakefield District all her life. A proud Castlefordian, Claire’s main focus is helping businesses and organisations across the District thrive and grow, supporting in networking, connecting and encouraging collaboration. In her role as MD of We Are Wakefield Ltd, she is joining the dots between business, education, culture, local authority and the VCSE sector.

Your Panel:

Mayor of Wakefield Cllr Josie Pritchard

Josie was elected in May 2021 and represents the Altofts and Whitwood Ward. She is dedicated to promoting children’s welfare and mental health services. She actively supports various committees related to the following causes: Adult Services, Public Health, The NHS, Children and Young People, Corporate Parenting.  Josie has been a Normanton Town Councillor for many years and has had the privilege of serving the people of the town in the role of Mayor of Normanton. During this time, she raised over £13,000 for The Well Project and the Charity Transforming Lives for Good. The Mayor’s chosen charity is Andy’s Man Club.


Rt Hon Yvette Cooper MP

Yvette Cooper is the Labour MP for Normanton, Pontefract, Castleford and Knottingley and has been an MP since 1 May 1997. She currently undertakes the role of Shadow Secretary of State for the Home Department.


Lucy Ndlovu

Lucy Ndlovu is a Public Relations (PR ) and Communication specialist and the founder of a Social Enterprise called Progressive Talent CIC. She is a community advocate and passionate about volunteering and making an impact in the community she lives in.

She is a committed Trustee of various organisations and is engaged in initiatives that help to promote diversity such as reverse mentoring and cultural awareness training. She is also a UN UK women delegate championing gender equality and women empowerment.


Tracy Carpenter

Yorkshire born and bred, Tracy, founded Mint HR back in 2016 and has over 25 years’ HR industry experience. Her company, Mint HR provides outsourced Human Resources to SMEs supporting them with all people-related matters. Tracy is also a trained mental health first aider and mediator and delivers bespoke training on a range of topics including getting the best out of your people, difficult conversations and resilience.
