Mint HR. Outsourced Human Resources for Yorkshire.

You set up a business because you’re passionate about what you do. But it’s not just your passion – you’re great at it. And that’s where your energy should be going. But as you’ve grown, all this other stuff has come into play: employing people. Managing them. Picking up the pieces when it doesn’t go to plan.

All that takes your focus away from what you’re good at and what you love.

And this is where Mint HR come in. They work with business owners and people managers around Yorkshire to make sure that everything people related is run for the good of the business: to make their clients an employer of choice, to keep issues to a minimum. To make everything run smoothly.

You may simply want to set up proper policies and procedures to ensure clarity and consistency or you might have a crisis brewing and have no idea how to handle it. Whatever your needs – help is just a phone call away.  Contact Tracy Carpenter – Pictured – for more information.

Dark Cherry Creative

Dark Cherry Creative have over 25 years experience helping businesses achieve their long and short term goals. They are a creative agency that help clients with all things website, design and marketing related. They work alongside and support a wide variety of companies in a broad collection of sectors. This allows them to deliver fantastic results and help for your business no matter the size or the industry you work within.

We asked, where did the name Dark Cherry Creative come from?   The response was, “It’s really not that exciting, and no it isn’t food related!”

“One day Richard (pictured)  and James were sat chatting about previous freelance projects and the names of businesses etc. James mentioned a gripe he had that his company was called True Blue, but there wasn’t a Pantone reference named True Blue.

At the time Richard was sat in a maroon coloured shirt, we both agreed that we liked the colour. “it’s like a plum colour… James, we can’t be a pair of plums!”. Let’s talk with Charles and think a little more… OK, it’s like a Dark Cherry Colour… after a little research and a few other suggestions, we found Dark Cherry is a Pantone colour! You can imagine the delight for James.

We made it happen, a company name with a Pantone reference. There you have it, the most boring way to come up with a company name.”

Look out for Richard at our First Friday events and say hello!

Rutley Clark – Unique Homes. The Straight Talking Yorkshire Estate Agency

Meet Claire Roberts, an independent estate agent helping people just like you to sell their Yorkshire home and move on to the next chapter of their life, driven by her own terrible experiences in the past dealing with estate agents and that’s why she knew she wanted to be different.

She’s a busy Mum to Chloe and Edward and along with her husband Darren (although he likes to stay in the background!), are the proud owners of Rutley Clark, a bespoke estate agency specialising in selling unique homes across Yorkshire.

Claire is mad about property, and when deciding to make some changes in their lives, when her children were very small, she decided to combine her passion with running her own business which also gave her more flexibility for spending time with the family.  They spent five years working with a national estate agency franchise before deciding to do things a little bit differently and opening Rutley Clark – focussing on unique homes in Yorkshire.

Rutley Clark, are a straight-talking Yorkshire Estate Agency with years of experience. They don’t have a high street branch because they believe they should visit clients, although clients are welcome to pop by to thier lovely out of town office any time they like. There’s no shop window, because they know that the majority of property searching is done online, but they still provide an exceptional, personal and dedicated service reducing the pressure of moving home for their clients.

Claire will be your personal agent, on hand throughout to make sure you stay stress free and able to continue running the rest of your life. All you have to do is decide where you are going to live next!

Their passion is evident in how they present homes. The unique approach leaves no stone unturned. Their marketing strategy focuses on how unique your home is and how we can reflect that value to potential buyers.

They are completely flexible and always try theor best to work with you around your busy schedules, including out of hours support. They carry out all viewings for you and provide feedback which you can then apply.

They pride themselves on their local knowledge of Yorkshire property, covering areas from Morley, Gomersal and Driglington across to Rothwell, Oulton and Wrenthorpe and down to Sandal, Horbury and Ossett. But they have been known to go as far as Harrogate, York and Sheffield!

Rutley Clark’s service is as unique as your home. They will be there to hold your hand every step of the way.

“Rarely have I encountered such togetherness” Sir Rodney Walker – Chair, We Are Wakefield

Over 130 businesses attended the We Are Wakefield First Friday Networking event at Nostell Priory on 2nd September to see Sir Rodney Walker take up post as Chair of the organisation.

We Are Wakefield is a not-for-profit organisation and the fastest growing business community in the Wakefield District, supporting over 130 member businesses.

Following the event, hosted by Nostell Estate and National Trust, Nostell, Sir Rodney said,

“As the incoming Chair, I want to pay tribute to Claire Sutherley for the organisation she is building.  Rarely have I encountered such “togetherness” as was in evidence this morning and confirmed by the new board of trustees and the large number of supporting comments on LinkedIn.

The work begun by Clare Thornton (Vice Chair) in looking to reorganise the organisation will create a firm base on which to build.

We all face financial challenges, both in our private and business lives, and even though I am confident the incoming government will take steps to minimise the the worst effects of the energy crisis there can never be a better time for the businesses of Wakefield to come together to support each other.  That’s what We Are Wakefield exists to promote.

I feel fortunate to have been invited to play a part in helping the organisation support the business community of Wakefield.”

Managing Director, Claire Sutherley, responded, “I am honoured and excited  that Sir Rodney Walker will be guiding myself and the board to strengthen We Are Wakefield’s position in supporting our wonderful community.”
