How Do I Become a Member?

We like to have a chat with you first to get to know you better and make sure you know which level of membership would suit you best.  Please contact us for a chat before signing up for membership.  We also want to make sure that We Are Wakefield is the right organisation for you before you make that decision.

When you want to become a member, you simply complete the online membership form HERE.

Membership entitles you to 11 First Friday networking events per year including breakfast, 2 hours networking, with key speaker and the chance to book a pop-up stall at events to promote your brand.

You will be able to submit content to our fortnightly newsletter, attend evening social events and free business/personal development sessions.

Membership can be paid annually by BACS or Direct Debit or monthly Direct Debit*.

Standard Membership:

£350 + VAT – INDIVIDUAL – one attendee

£550 + VAT – TEAM – up to 3 attendees

 Standard Membership entitles you to:

*The option to book a pop-up stall at First Friday events to promote your brand and engage closely with other members (first come first served).

*Submit content to the fantastic WAW E-Newsletter.  The fortnightly publication has over 400 subscribers and over 75% click rate.

*The opportunity to attend evening social events and free business/personal development sessions for you and your team.

*Listed in our Member Directory

*Access to the WAW LinkedIn Members Group

*Tag us in your socials and get the WAW footfall!

You will be presented with a We Are Wakefield membership plaque to display at your premises.

Membership can be paid annually by BACS or Direct Debit or monthly Direct Debit.

Supporter Level £1000 + VAT:

Standard Team Membership plus:

* multiple representatives at First Friday events (max 3 per event)

*your logo will be placed above the members list under “ Supporters of WAW” on the Member Directory rather than just in the current members list. This will be hyperlinked to your website.

*Separate “Ambassadors & Supporters” page on the website with a paragraph of information about you and links to your website.

*WAW Supporter plaque and framed certificate to display at your premises (new for 2024).

*Supporter Silver Pin Badge & Supporter Name Badge with logo for WAW events (new for 2024).

* Logo to feature on the footer of every newsletter and member publication from WAW.

* Priority ticket access for WAW events including the Wakefield Business Awards along with your logo listed in the awards brochure as a WAW “Supporter”.

* 5% Discounted tickets for WAW paid events such as quiz nights, business luncheons, dining events (not including Business Awards)

*Exclusive annual Supporters Afternoon Tea event.  A chance for our Supporter members to get to know each other and meet the WAW Board Directors and Chair, Sir Rodney Walker.

Ambassador Level £2000 + VAT – restricted to 10 Ambassadors:

Standard Team Membership Plus:

* multiple representatives at First Friday events (max 3 per event)

*your logo will be priority placed above the members & supporters list in the Member Directory under “Ambassadors of WAW” on the website rather than just in the current members list. This will be hyperlinked to your website.

*Separate “Ambassadors & Supporters” page on the website with a paragraph of information about you and a link to your website – this can be updated monthly to reflect events or news stories if content provided.

* Logo to feature on the footer of every newsletter and publication from WAW.

* Ambassador banners placed at every WAW event featuring Ambassador logos.

* One key speaker slot per year (if required) at a WAW First Friday event.

* Individual Award Sponsorship at The Wakefield Business Awards (categories to be offered by WAW) – value £300.  OR £300 discount on higher level sponsorship at the awards.

We currently have a waiting list for WAW Ambassador positions.  The Ambassadors renew annually in January. If you would like to express interest in the Ambassador membership please contact WAW MD Claire Sutherley.

Why be part of the Wakefield District’s largest business community?

Along with all the usual benefits of regularly meeting with other local businesses from a wide variety of sectors, you will be supporting the largest, collaborative business community in the Wakefield District. We Are Wakefield is a not-for-profit organisation which exists for the benefit of its members.

 

The funds from Supporter and Ambassador Level memberships will be used to deliver free business and personal development sessions for member businesses. Your branding and level of support will be publicised at these sessions.  Your team members will have access to attend the sessions. You may wish to contribute experience/mentoring to other businesses as part of your involvement.  The revenue will allow us to continue adding value to the WAW membership and supporting our members to thrive.

 

You will have an increased presence within the local business community and working within the local economy.  Access to local suppliers can encourage shorter lead times and a lower Carbon Footprint. Access to local third sector organisations.

Improved access to local recruitment via the WAW platforms and increased local profile.
