We are Wakefield, we are Yorkshire!

It’s a huge honour for us to welcome The Yorkshire Society’s Chief Executive, Phil Bell, to WAW HQ to receive the We Are Wakefield members plaque and welcome the organisation to the WAW family.

Our MD, Claire Sutherley, was proud to receive The Yorkshire Society’s membership certificate for We Are Wakefield  and said, “We are very excited about joining forces with The Yorkshire Society to shout about the Wakefield District’s place within our wonderful county and proudly wave the white rose flag. Phil and I have some fantastic ideas to work on and we’re sure that members of both organisations will be interested in what’s to come.

We invite all Yorkshire Society members to join us at our next breakfast event on Friday 2nd September at Nostell Priory where Chair of both organisations, Sir Rodney Walker, will be one of the key speakers.

Below is a list of all of support services with a brief summary of what they can offer!

AD:VENTURE – Growth Programme

This programme is ideal for businesses who are trading with other businesses and who want to build the business and grow the team.

Start Up Leeds – Leeds Library and BIPC 

This programme of support is aimed at Leeds residents wanting to start a new business, or needing help to grow your new businesses, and operates from the Leeds Library and a range of other library hubs across the Leeds district.

ACCELERATE at Leeds Beckett University

This programme is perfect for B2B businesses who are trading and want to grow and improve their business.

Spawforths are an award winning and innovative multidisciplinary team of architects, planners and master planners who are passionate about creating beautiful places which will stand the test of time.

The team are currently promoting over £12 billion worth of development through the planning system including over 40,000 new homes and 25 million square feet of commercial floor space. Of these their architects are delivering 1 million sq ft of commercial floor space worth £145 million and 650 new homes worth £140 million throughout the North of England and the Midlands.

• Planning
  At the heart of the business is the largest independent planning consultancy in the north employing a large team of chartered town planners with expertise in local plans, development control, appeals and environmental assessments.
• Masterplanning
  Sitting alongside the planners is a dedicated masterplanning team, all of which have post graduate degrees in urban design with dual qualifications in related disciplines such as architecture.

Our Collaboration of the Month winners for June are Family Fit UK CIC who submitted their collaboration with Blossom Training & Development and Bring Me To Life- Women’s Wellness CIC. We Are Wakefield Chair, Clare Thornton, judged their entry as the first ever Collab of the Month winner!

It was a difficult decision with amazing collab’s between Tagtiv8 Ltd and Production Haus; Recent Beans working with Castleford Tigers and also The Yorkshire Handbag Company!!
