The Wakefield District business community is as diverse as it is dynamic, and we think that’s something to be celebrated.
From little acorns, mighty oaks grow. Whether you’re one person working from your dining room table or employ thousands, Wakefield’s businesses have plenty to shout about. So here’s your chance.
Created by We Are Wakefield, the Wakefield Business Awards will celebrate all that’s great about our district’s businesses. You can read the Rules of Entry HERE.
There’s a range of categories, taking account of all shapes and sizes of businesses. So, if you’ve had a cracking year, overcome a major hurdle, or landed a contract with one of the country’s biggest names, now you can get even more credit for it.
We don’t care whether you have staff, an eight-figure turnover, or a client list longer than the M1, we’ve levelled the playing field so you can enter your business confident that there’s a category where you’ll compete against similar businesses.
We’re all about helping businesses become more sustainable through making quality local connections – and the Wakefield Business Awards will have sustainability at their heart. We’ll not be using single use plastic, will use minimal resources to pull off the event, and the dress code will encourage people to wear something they already own or buy second-hand.

We’re planning a night to remember at Tileyard North starting with a drinks reception sponsored by Pure Purchasing Consultants, an instant photograph for each attendee sponsored by Handelsbanken, followed by a stunning 3 course meal lovingly designed by Chef Shaun Mounsey at CREATE.
There’ll be some amazing entertainment too – watch this space for further announcements!

Thursday 7th November 2024 from 6.15pm ’til late. Awards ceremony is expected to end by 11pm followed by an after-party until 1am.

Black Tie and we encourage you to wear preworn or preloved outfits.
WINE AND DINE?
You will enjoy a superb 3 course meal on the night curated by CREATE. There will be bar service (CARD ONLY – NO CASH) and you will also be able to pre-order drinks before the event. We will contact you with a drinks pre-order form and ask for any special access and dietary requirements once you have purchased your tickets.
CLOAKROOM?
There will be an unmanned area to hang coats – any items are left at your own risk.
PARKING & PUBLIC TRANSPORT?
The nearest car parking is pay and display at the Waterfront Car Park on Barnsley Road (you can use the Mipermit App, coins or card to pay) or The Hepworth Wakefield car park (you can use the Evology parking App, coins or cards to pay). The Wakefield Free City bus loops by the south entrance to our courtyard the venue is just a few minutes walk from Wakefield Kirkgate station, and a short drive from Wakefield Westgate if you’re arriving via train. Parking is not permitted onsite, double yellow lines are enforced on Tootal Street.
After Show Party
You can continue partying after the main ceremony at the Awards After Show Party when our host DIXIE will be playing a DJ set into the early hours.
The After Show Party will run after the main event 11pm-1am.
