Guide to Writing Your WAW Collaboration Story
We love celebrating successful connections within the We Are Wakefield community — and each month, one standout collaboration will be featured in the WAW Newsletter and crowned Collaboration of the Month (with a prize, of course!).
Here’s a simple guide to help you write a clear, engaging story about your collaboration with another WAW member/s.
-
Start With the Basics Open your story with the key information: – Who collaborated? Include the names of the businesses/organisations and the people involved. – How did the collaboration begin? Was it through a WAW event, an introduction, Expo, networking session, or an online connection?
-
Tell the Story Share a short narrative of how the collaboration unfolded: – What was the problem, opportunity, or goal? – What role did each partner play? – How did you work together? – What made this collaboration special or meaningful? Keep it warm and authentic — members love real stories!
-
Highlight the Outcome Explain the impact: – What was achieved? (A new product, project delivered, service created, event run, charity supported, etc.) – What benefits did each partner gain? – Any unexpected positives? This helps showcase the value of connecting within the network.
-
Keep It Clear and Concise Aim for 250–400 words — enough to tell the story, but easy for readers to enjoy. Use short paragraphs, and feel free to add: – Bullet points – Quotes from those involved – Key takeaways
-
Add Supporting Images You can upload the following directly to the submission form below: – Photos of you working together – Images of the project or outcome – Logos of the businesses/organisations involved Visuals help bring your story to life and make it more engaging for newsletter readers.
-
End With a Thank You (Optional but Lovely!) Give a nod to WAW for bringing you together, or give a shout-out to the partner you worked with!
